-Gallinula chloropus (Linnaeus)
Adults: Head and neck black, becoming slate on breast and flanks. Flanks streaked with white. Back brown to brownish olive. Outer under tail coverts white, inner ones black. Middle of abdomen whitish. Frontal shield and bill red, bill tipped yellowish. Toes long (middle toe longer than tarsus), without webs or scallop-shaped lobes. Nostrils narrow, elongated.
