Geocaching

Geocaching is a worldwide activity where participants hunt for hidden treasures with GPS units. The fun is in the finding as you explore beautiful places on the hunt for a cache. Thousand Islands National Park has several hidden geocaches and earthcaches on its island and mainland properties. To upload these caches to your GPS, look for the user “Blanding’s Turtle” on the worldwide geocaching website, geocaching.com.

New to geocaching? The Get Me Geocaching program at the Mallorytown Landing Visitor Centre teaches visitors how to use a GPS to find geocaches. GPS units are available for loan and the program is free.
