Join a Parks Canada interpreter and explore the Salt Plains or Grosbeak Lake! Identify tracks in the clay and treat yourself to a Salt Plains Pedicure - an experience to remember! Guided hikes are generally scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the summer. Reserve your spot, enquire about group booking and make special requests via the Visitor Information Centre (867-872-7960).

Paddle Your Way Canoe Program

Paddle your way through the crystal clear waters of Pine Lake and experience Canada’s most iconic mode of transportation: the canoe. Canoes, paddles and PFDs are all provided. Join us for an evening program on Wednesdays or spend a relaxing Saturday afternoon on the lake. Call the Visitor Information Centre for reservations and enquiries.

Parks Canada Xplorers’ Program

The Parks Canada Xplorers’ Program is an exciting opportunity to connect young people to our natural and cultural treasures. Explore Wood Buffalo National Park with an interpretive guide and try new activities every Sunday throughout the summer. Parks Canada Xplorers are rewarded with a chance to get to know Wood Buffalo National Park, as well as a special activity booklet, dog tag and certificate at the end!

Campfire Program

Join Interpretive staff at Pine Lake for Saturday evening programming around the campfire. Songs, stories and snacks make for a pleasant evening. Enquire at the Visitor Information Centre or watch for the Parks truck at the Pine Lake campground.

Register and meet at the Visitor Information Centre 15 minutes prior to all guided hikes, tours, and programs. Free for children under 12 years old accompanied by a parent. Call 867-872-7960 to register or enquire about meeting times or program details. Please bring a snack, drink and come prepared for the elements.
