Gros Morne National Park of Canada was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. It is an area of great natural beauty with a rich variety of s cenery, wildlife, and recreational activities. Visitors can hike through wild, uninhabited mountains and camp by the sea. Boat tours bring visitors under the towering cliffs of a freshwater fjord carved out by glaciers. Visitors should take note that an active moose hunt will be underway in Gros Morne National Park from Sept. 14, 2013 to Feb. 2, 2014. Three zones have been identified within the larger Moose Management Area, each with a different start date. Find out more.
