The trail runs about one kilometre past the campground and then loops back. It follows the Old Mail Road along the back of the dunes. Men with dog teams used this route to deliver mail all along the coast until 1952. This trail is often swept by winds coming off the Gulf of St. Lawrence, so be prepared for cold conditions. Early in the winter the snow may develop an icy crust making skiing at Shallow Bay a little more challenging.
Note: The kitchen shelter is enclosed for winter use at the Shallow Bay campground.
Length: 6.8km of trail in three loops, single track traditional.
Rating: (Easy) The trail is well suited to the novice skier, it is flat and relatively short.
