Participants will be asked to contribute to the park’s ecological integrity program by helping us identify and count some insect species.

Beetles, butterflies, damselflies, dragonflies and others could be amongst some of the species observed at this program.

This activity will help the park researchers and will contribute to the park’s ecological integrity data base. A short photography session will be offered.

Discoveries at Kouchibouguac

BioBlitz contributes! Thanks to research that is taking place in the park, since 2006, 24 species of dragonflies / damselflies, Lady Beetles and butterflies have been added to the Park’s inventory of species.

For 2009 only, 12 species (9 dragonflies / damselflies; 2 Lady Beetles; 1 butterfly) were discovered.

In 2011, ten (10) species were discovered, 5 of which were made with the help of participants in the BioBlitz program.
