Wednesday, December 17 Kouchibouguac’s Annual Christmas Bird Count
Take part in Kouchibouguac’s 45th Annual Christmas Bird Count. It’s a great way to combine your love of bird watching and winter fun. Meet at the Park administration between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. Bring your binoculars and your bird books!
Friday, January 9
New Year Observation Rally
Put on your winter boots or your snowshoes and get ready for a night of fun! Register your teams at Pijeboogwek between 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. The observation rally will end at the Visitor Reception Center where you can warm up to a cup of hot chocolate. Door prizes and prizes for the winning team will be awarded.
Sunday, March 1
31st Boules de Neige X-Country Ski Loppet 
Ski 3 km, 10 km, 30 km or 50 km. Each year, the loppet attracts a large number of skiers and is a much anticipated family activity. Whether you are competing for a personal best or just for the fun of it, every participant finds their happy spot. Visit Zone4 to register.

50th Anniversary of the Canadian Flag
It’s a day of celebration at Kouchibouguac National Park. Join us from noon to 5 p.m. at Patterson for some cake, hot chocolate and great tobogganing!

  • Canadian Flag Rally
    Start your afternoon with our Canadian Flag Rally. Get your participant’s booklet from the attendant at the Pijeboogwek shelter. The rally will lead you to Patterson shelter. Prizes for participation and for the winning team will be awarded.
  • Flag Cake
    Every party must have cake! Bring your lunch and we’ll bring dessert.
  • Heat up with hot chocolate
    A little chilly from all that sledding? Warm up with a nice cup of hot cocoa.
  • Marshmallows over the fire
    Roasted marshmallows in winter? Why not!
  • Family Sledding
    Bring your sleds and toboggans! A few sleds will also be at your disposal throughout the winter at Patterson.
  • Red and White for everyone!
    Wear your flag colors and your name will be placed in a draw to win a prize.

11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Snowshoeing with Camilla and Friends
Camilla, a Park volunteer, will lead you on a 3 km trek from the foot bridge to Middle Kouchibouguac shelter and back. Meet at Pijeboogwek parking lot at 11 a.m. and bring a picnic!
Friday, March 6 
7 p.m. - 10 p.m.
Under the Crescent Moon: Snowshoe Outing
Enjoy a magical night snowshoe outing from the foot bridge to Middle Kouchibouguac shelter with Camilla, a Park volunteer. Meet at Pijeboogwek parking lot at 7 p.m. Bring your headlamp and a good snack!

7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Hoo! Hoo! Hoo's there?
Discover the night life of owls. Put on your ski boots and join us for a relaxed ski outing surrounded by the tranquility of winter nights. Meet at Pijeboogwek shelter and bring your headlamps along with a snack!

7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Losses and newcomers amongst New Brunswick Mammals
Guided cross-country ski outing to discover New Brunswick’s mammals. Join us at Pijeboogwek shelter and don’t forget snacks and your headlamp!
