Looking for entertaining activities in the great outdoors? Kouchibouguac National Park is your destination with the Dancing Dune Festival, from May 16 to September 5, 2015! Bike rides, moonlight walks, artists and artisans and so much more!

The adventure continues in the Fall with Kouchibouguac's Fabulous Fall Festival, from September 12 to October 11. Build a sand sculpture, pedal your bike, paddle your canoe, participate in a marathon and sing along with local musicians! Get all the details at the bottom of this page!

May 16 Treasure Hunt
Starting at 9:30 a.m. you can pick up your treasure map at the visitor reception center or at the South Kouchibouguac kiosk. The first clue will be posted at 9:30 a.m. The hunt will end by 3 p.m. Prizes to be won!
Live music with Pierre & JF
From 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the outdoor theatre, come on over and enjoy the music.
May 22 - 24 Star Fest
This year again we welcome volunteers from the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada in the Park!
June 6 Let’s Go Biking - Treasure Hunt
Grab your bikes and head to Kouchibouguac National Park to enjoy great trails! Meet at Pijeboogwek. Choose from two routes; a short distance and a longer distance. Will you find the treasure? From 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Trail Building School with IMBA Canada
This is a unique opportunity to learn from the Trail Care Crew from the International Mountain Bicycling Association and get involved in trail building in the Park. From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Lunch will be provided. Please contact us at (506) 876-2443 to register.

Christmas in July
Site decoration contest at South Kouchibouguac campground. Campers are invited to decorate their site! Fun prizes for most original and best decorated. Judges will circulate between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Please note that since the park is a Dark Sky Preserve, no points will be awarded for lighting (Christmas lights or other)

August 15 Happy Acadian Day!
Come on over, from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and craft a noisemaker for the Tintamarre at the South Kouchibouguac white tent! At 10:30 a.m., take part in the Tintamarre. A Tintamarre is an Acadian tradition of walking through one’s community, making noise with improvised instruments and other noisemakers.
August 19 Sing and Dance with Parka

August 29 10k Under 10 million Stars
Walk or run the 10k loop starting at Pijeboogwek. Departure is at 8 p.m. For your convenience, bring a water bottle and a flashlight and maybe a glow stick or two! This might be the first of an annual event so don’t miss out!
September 4 Shorebirds Survey
Shorebirds are found all along the coast at this time of the year. Along with an Environment Canada biologist, participate in an inventory in the Park. Meet at Kellys Beach white tent at 9:45 a.m. Activity will end at around noon.
G’bye Summer With Park Staff & Friends
From 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the outdoor theatre. Songs, music and sketches to entertain you... we’re sure to make you smile! Animation in English and in French.
September 5 Geocaching Event
Parks Canada and CacheUp NB invite you to experience geocaching in the Park. Meet at La Source, from noon until 5 p.m. First 400 participants to complete their Cacheport will receive a geocoin!
Let’s Go Biking - Bike and Cache
At La Source, take part in the Geocaching Event and bike your way to the caches! Most caches will be easily accessible by bike.

Songs and Stories with Sementy
Meet at the kitchen shelter near site 265, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. for storytelling (in French) with Sementy and to sing along with Daniel. Hot chocolate will be served so bring your cups, along with your folding chairs for comfort.
September 18-19-20 FallStar Fest (with volunteers from the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada)
Friday, September 18
  • 3 p.m.: Solar Observations
  • "What’s Up" presentation at the outdoor theatre
  • Night Sky observations with the Stargazers
Saturday, September 19
  • 10 a.m. : Telescope Clinic. Do you have a telescope and want to learn how to use it? The astronomers can show you how! They can also do minor repairs free of charge. Please be sure to bring all parts.
  • 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.: Solar Observations
  • 11:30 a.m.: A “Constellation Quest” board game. All participants will receive a free Starfinder Starwheel and a MoonGazer guide!
  • 8 p.m.: "What's Up" (in French) at the outdoor theatre
  • 9:30 - 11:30: A Night Sky Observation with the Stargazers.

Sunday, September 20

  • 9 a.m.: Solar Observations
September 19 Kouchibouguac Bike Rally!
Meet at Pijeboogwek shelter at 10 a.m. to find out about your challenge. Choose from two routes: a 10km loop or a 25km loop. To be entered in the draw for door prizes, all rally sheets must be returned by 2 p.m.
Geocaching 101
Come experience this treasure hunt-like activity. Meet at the Kellys Beach canteen at 4 p.m. for a one hour workshop.
September 26 Paddle the Kouchibouguac River
From the dam in Kouchibouguac to Ryans Landing. Bring your own boat (canoe or kayak), a lunch, and water. Departure expected at 10 a.m. Participants are responsible for their own transportation and watercraft.
October 3

Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day
Obstacle course, observation rally, treasure hunt, helmet fitting station, squeaky chains oiling station, door prizes and much more. From 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at La Source. Bike helmets are mandatory. Surpises throughout the activity!

October 9 Pumpkin Distribution and Site Decoration
Limited quantity of pumpkins offered to campers starting at 6 p.m. Contest judges will circulate on October 11.
October 10 At South Kouchibouguac White Tent:
Junior Washer Toss Tournament (12 and under), Register between 9:45 a.m. and 10 a.m. 20 teams maximum.

Kouchibouguac Challenge. Friends and families, come challenge yourselves and others in fun and friendly games. Lots of fun! From 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Senior Washer Toss Tournament (13 and up), Register between 1:45 p.m. and 2 p.m. 20 teams maximum.

Observation Rally. Register between 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Bring a flashlight and a pencil. From 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Pumpkin and Site Decoration Contest
Campsites and pumpkins, here we come! Judges will circulate between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Winners will be announced during the live music event in the evening.

  • There are two white tents in the park which serve as a meeting place for many organized activities in the Park
    • South Kouchibouguac white tent refers to the one situated in South Kouchibouguac campground, 3rd loop.
    • Kellys Beach white tent refers to the one situated near Kellys Beach canteen.
  • A Park pass is required for all Park users.
  • Always keep your pets on leash.
  • Alcoholic beverages may only be consumed on the site registered to your name.
