Celebrate this country’s 146th birthday in national park style with a giant cake, entertainment, kid's activities, fireworks. Join us as we commemorate everything that is great about our wonderful country. And what is a birthday party without presents? Visitors will enjoy free entry to the park all day long!

Swim, paddle, sail, wakeboard, fish, hike, sunbathe - however you like to enjoy Clear Lake, this is the day for you! Learn all about Clear Lake as RMNP pulls out all the stops to showcase this jewel of the prairies. And then round out your day with the Great Canadian Water Fight! All events take place on the Main Beach.
* RIDING MOUNTAIN FILM FESTIVAL

The Riding Mountain Film Festival is a five-day event held in Dauphin and Wasagaming that features a variety of films covering a range of topics from environmentalism, adventure, to local cuisine as well as other regionally based films. The festival will also feature a digital media camp where youth learn to make their own films. For more information, visit www.rmnpfilmfest.ca.
Riding Mountain National Park continues the Celebrations on Parks Day with a number of activities suitable for all ages. Step back in time and participate in a POW Wagon Ride out to Whitewater Lake (more details below). Memories are waiting to be made, so Come Celebrate!

From North Africa to the North Woods - Take a wagon trip back to a unique chapter in Canada's history. Allow yourself to be transported back in time to a Canadian Prisoner of War (POW) camp in the backcountry of Riding Mountain National Park. Guided by Friends of RMNP staff and park interpreters, you will ride in a horse-drawn wagon and experience a taste of what some young German soldiers who were captured on the battle lines in North Africa saw and felt when they were shipped to Canada's rugged wilderness to await the end of the Second World War.

LI’L CRITTER CAMP

Friends of RMNP is excited to announce a new Li'l Critter Camp program for children ages 5 and up! Offered Monday to Friday during July and August, Li'l Critter Camp will take place at the Friends Learning Centre, at 154 Columbine, from 4 to 5 p.m. Featuring arts & crafts, games and sports activities, Li'l Critter Camp is a great way to end the afternoon. JUNIOR NATURALIST PROGRAM

An education program geared toward children between the ages of 5 and 12. Half-day programs include workshops, hikes and experiments relating to the natural and cultural heritage of Riding Mountain National Park. Parents can register their children at the Nature Shop in the Visitor Centre - advance registration is encouraged as space is limited. An education program geared toward children between the ages of 7 and 14. Programs include hikes and experiments relating to the natural world of Riding Mountain National Park. Parents can register their children at either the Nature Shop in the Visitor Centre or at the Friends Learning Centre at 154 Columbine - advance registration is encouraged as space is limited.
