The Yoho Visitor Centre in Field, British Columbia hosts interactive exhibits about the Burgess Shale. Explore the undersea world that existed here more than half a billion years ago on the interactive touch table, check out the Friends of Yoho store for Burgess Shale products, explore hands on trivia activities, and see real fossils extracted from a Burgess Shale fossil bed. Open daily. Public restrooms on site.
While visiting Emerald Lake be sure to stroll a short distance pass the boat house on the Emerald lake trail to a Burgess Shale exhibit and viewing area. Here you can use a scope to view the actual Walcott Quarry site, 400 metres above on the slopes of Mt Field.
