Meeting Agenda:

  1. 1. Block S, Lot 54 – 32 Stan Wright Drive - The proponents have applied to operate a flower arranging business, which is discretionary use.
  2. Block 3, Lot 17 – 306 Connaught Drive – The proponents have applied to demolish and construct a new commercial building. The proponents have applied to operate an eating establishment, which is a discretionary use. The proponents are seeking variances on: maximum site coverage; maximum eave height; rear setback requirement; projections into front and rear setback; minimum site landscaping; on-site parking; staff accommodation units; staff accommodation outdoor amenity space.

Parties affected by these applications are invited to make written or oral presentations to the committee. Oral presentations at the meeting are limited to 5 minutes and are by appointment only. Written presentations to a maximum of 500 words may be submitted to the Development Office. To make an appointment or submit a written presentation, contact the Parks Canada Development Office at 780-852-6223 no later than 1:00 PM on Wednesday, November 19, 2014.

Development Permits and the Planning & Development Advisory Committee Notices are posted in the lobby of the Jasper Heritage Railway Station - Parks Canada administration building, 607 Connaught Drive, Jasper.

Applications heard at the public meeting held at 3:30 pm on Thursday, October 23, 2014 in the Grand Trunk Pacific Boardroom, Jasper Heritage Railway Station, 607 Connaught Drive, Jasper, AB

Applications: 

  1. Block 39, Lots 34 & 35 – 1215 Cabin Creek Drive - The proponents, Brian Kearnan and Michelle Deschene, have applied to operate two rooms of private home accommodation, which is a discretionary use.

    a) Variance: Discretionary Use. Decision: Approved 

  2.  Block 40, Lot 45 – 1115 Patricia Street - The proponents, John Kovacs and Renee Willis, have applied to operate two rooms of private home accommodation, which is a discretionary use.

    a) Variance: Discretionary Use. Decision: Approved

  3. Block 14, Lot 15 – 118 Patricia Street – The proponents, Rod and Beth Tower, have applied for a variance to install a garden door access to a new deck creating four points of entry, which is in excess of the maximum number of two (2) entrances allowed:

    a) Variance: Decision: Conditionally Approved*
    *Proponents must remove the rear bedroom door to permit the front garden door as an additional point of entry
