Meeting Agenda:

  1. Block R9, Parking Area Adjacent to Lot 2 - McCready Centre Parking Area – The proponent has applied to operate an outdoor farmers market in the parking area during the summer which is a discretionary use. 

  2. Block B, Lot 1- 401 Geike Street – The proponent has applied to:
    a. Develop a Transitional Workers Accommodation in a portion of the building which is a discretionary use.
    b. Vary the number of parking stalls, if required.

Parties affected by these applications are invited to make written or oral presentations to the committee. Oral presentations at the meeting are limited to 5 minutes and are by appointment only. Written presentations to a maximum of 500 words may be submitted to the Development Office. To make an appointment or submit a written presentation, contact the Parks Canada Development Office at 780-852-6223 no later than 1:00 PM on Wednesday, April 23, 2014.

Development Permits and the Planning & Development Advisory Committee Notices will be posted in the lobby of the Jasper Heritage Railway Station - Parks Canada administration building, 607 Connaught Drive, Jasper.

Applications heard at the public meeting held at 3:30 pm on Thursday, June 26, 2014 in the Grand Trunk Pacific Boardroom, Jasper Heritage Railway Station, 607 Connaught Drive, Jasper, AB

Applications:

  1. Block 2, Lot 4 – 207 Geikie Street – The proponents, Kathryn & Paul Arseneault, have applied to operate one room of private home accommodation, which is a discretionary use.
    a) Variance: Discretionary Use.
    DECISION: CONDITIONAL APPROVAL
    on the property passing a Parks Canada compliance inspection.

  2. Block 28, Lot 31 – 818 Geikie Street – The proponents, Stavros Korogonas & Gabrielle Valcourt, have applied to operate two rooms of private home accommodation, which is a discretionary use.
    a) Variance: Discretionary Use.
    DECISION: CONDITIONAL APPROVAL on the property passing a Parks Canada compliance inspection and that PHA parking on the driveway shall be configured so that one vehicle is parked to the extreme northeast side of the driveway and one vehicle is parked to the extreme southwest side of the driveway to allow unimpeded vehicular access to the garage.

  3. Block S, Lot 55 – 22 Stan Wright Drive – The proponent, RMV Publications, have applied to store printed material in a portion of the building currently leased by Jasper Raft Tours Ltd., which is a discretionary use.
    a) Variance: Discretionary Use.
    DECISION: APPROVED

  4. Block 7, Lot 5 – 607A Patricia Street – The proponents, Sam & Shelley Koebel, have applied to vary the Parking Requirements.
    a) Variance: All parking stalls waived.
    DECISION: APPROVED
