Effective August 2, 2016, to serve you better, NEW hours of operation at the reception of the Parks Canada Administration Office in the Heritage Railway Station.

Basic administrative services including the sale of visitor park passes, issuance of resident passes and payment processes will be provided during the lunch hour. All other specialized park functions will be available by appointment only.

Meeting Agenda:

  1. Natural Open Space (NOS) Lands Adjacent to and North West of Block S – The proponent has applied for rezoning of this parcel from Natural Open Space (NOS) to Institutional (I) in order to explore the development of a not for profit parking area.

  2. Block 25, Lot 23 - 724 Patricia Street - The proponents have applied for a variance to:

    i. Reduce the minimum width of residential parking stall from 2.7 m to 2.5 m in order to provide 6 parking stalls instead of 5 parking stalls; and

    ii. Allow the allocation of 3 parking stall to each side of the duplex instead of 2.5 parking stalls to allow for each duplex unit to have one room Private Home Accommodation or a Type 2 business.

  3. Block 25, Lot 24 - 722 Patricia Street - The proponents have applied for a variance to:

    i. reduce the minimum width of residential parking stall from 2.7 m to 2.5 m in order to provide 6 parking stalls instead of 5 parking stalls; and

    ii. allow the allocation of 3 parking stall to each side of the duplex instead of 2.5 parking stalls to allow for each duplex unit to have one room Private Home Accommodation or a Type 2 business.

Parties affected by these applications are invited to make written or oral presentations to the committee. Oral presentations at the meeting are limited to 5 minutes and are by appointment only. Written presentations to a maximum of 500 words may be submitted to the Development Office. To make an appointment or submit a written presentation, contact the Parks Canada Development Office at 780-852-6223 no later than 1:00 PM on Wednesday, February 15, 2017.

Applications heard at the public meeting held at 3:30 pm on Thursday, August 18, 2016 in the Grand Trunk Pacific Boardroom, Jasper Heritage Railway Station, 607 Connaught Drive, Jasper, AB.

Applications:

  1. Parcel CD – 78 Connaught Drive - The proponents, Jas-Day Investments Ltd., have applied for rezoning from Automobile Service Station (C4) to Tourist Commercial District (C2).
    a) Rezoning: Conditional Approval*
    * Rezoning is contingent upon the proponent building both the commercial operation and the staff accommodation at the same time.

  2. Block S, Lots 31, 32, 33 – 40-44 Stan Wright Drive - The proponent, Rajko Indic, has applied to incorporate staff accommodation into a proposed new commercial development in Block S, which is a discretionary use.
    a) Discretionary use: Conditional Approval*
    * Allocation of the remaining commercial floor area in Block S is allocated for this development excluding staff accommodation. Staff accommodation in the Block S district will need to be addressed as part of the Jasper Community Sustainability Plan review.

Applications:

  1. Block 2, Lot 25 – 217 Geikie Street – The proponent has applied for the following variances which are over the maximum allowable limits:
    a) Increase the height of the garage from 4.5 m to 5.8 m;
    b) Increase the eave height of the garage from 2.5 m to 3.5 m; and,
    c) Increase the number of entrances to the house from 2 to 3 entry points.
