Applications heard at the public meeting held at 3:30 pm on Thursday, June 18, 2015 in the Grand Trunk Pacific Boardroom, Jasper Heritage Railway Station, 607 Connaught Drive, Jasper, AB


  1. Block 28, Lot 29 – 822 Geikie Street - The proponents have applied to operate two rooms of private home accommodation, which is a discretionary use and are seeking a variance on maximum number of permitted entrances.
    a) Discretionary Use DECISION: APPROVED
    b) Variance - Maximum number of permitted entrances DECISION: DENIED

  2. Block 2, Lot 26 – 219 Geikie Street – The proponents have applied to construct a new residence and are seeking a variance on projection into the side setback.
    a) Variance – Projection into side setback DECISION: APPROVED

  3. Block B, Lot 4 – 400 Patricia Street - The proponents applied to operate commercial accommodations and are now seeking a variance on parking and staff accommodation units.
    a) Variance – Tandem Parking DECISION: CONDITIONAL
    *Tandem stall is accepted only for the staff accommodation unit parking only

    b) Variance – Substandard Parking Size Stalls DECISION: APPROVED

    c) Variance – Required Number of On-site Parking Stalls DECISION: DENIED
    *The variance to reduce the number of parking stalls to the submitted plan is denied. The proponent must contribute to the Municipality of Jasper Parking Authority for 4 parking stalls. If an on-site stall is removed to provide for a waste bin, then an additional stall must be purchased from the MOJ Parking Authority.

    d) Variance – Staff Accommodation Units DECISION: DENIED
    *The proponents are required to provide two staff accommodation units
