Effective August 2, 2016, to serve you better, NEW hours of operation at the reception of the Parks Canada Administration Office in the Heritage Railway Station.

Basic administrative services including the sale of visitor park passes, issuance of resident passes and payment processes will be provided during the lunch hour. All other specialized park functions will be available by appointment only.

  • Monday to Friday
  • Closed Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays

Meeting Agenda:

  1. Block 25, Lot 13 - 730 Patricia Street - The proponents have applied to vary the maximum number of permitted entrances for the construction of an “at grade” rear entrance.

  2. Block 16, Lot 15 - 227 Bonhomme Street - The proponent has applied for a variance to retain an accessory building that is over 7.5 m2, the maximum allowable site coverage.

Parties affected by these applications are invited to make written or oral presentations to the committee. Oral presentations at the meeting are limited to 5 minutes and are by appointment only. Written presentations to a maximum of 500 words may be submitted to the Development Office. Jasper National Park Committee of Adjustments
(Planning and Development Advisory Committee) 

Applications heard at the public meeting held at 3:30 pm on Thursday, February 16, 2017 in the Grand Trunk Pacific Boardroom, Jasper Heritage Railway Station, 607 Connaught Drive, Jasper, AB.

Applications:

  1. Natural Open Space (NOS) Lands Adjacent to and North West of Block S – The proponent has applied for rezoning of this parcel from Natural Open Space (NOS) to Institutional (I) in order to explore the development of a not for profit parking area.

    a) Rezoning: Conditional Approval*

    Conditions:
    1. The rezoning approval is only to facilitate the development process. The committee would like the eventual plan to be presented at a future PDAC meeting to ensure the development concerns are addressed and to allow for public awareness and input.
    2. If the development does not proceed this parcel will return to Natural Open Space (NOS).

  2. Block 25, Lot 23 - 724 Patricia Street - The proponents have applied for a variance to:

    i. reduce the minimum width of residential parking stall from 2.7 m to 2.5 m in order to provide 6 parking stalls on each lot instead of 5 parking stalls; and
    ii. allow the allocation of 3 parking stall to each side of each duplex instead of 2.5 parking stalls to allow for each duplex unit to have one room Private Home Accommodation or a Type 2 business.

    a) Variance: Conditional Approval*

    Conditions:
    1. The fence on the property cannot extend past the start of the parking area.
    2. The parking area must have curb stops, parking lines and have a hardened surface of asphalt or concrete.

  3. Block 25, Lot 24 - 722 Patricia Street - The proponents have applied for a variance to:

    i. reduce the minimum width of residential parking stall from 2.7 m to 2.5 m in order to provide 6 parking stalls on each lot instead of 5 parking stalls; and
    ii. allow the allocation of 3 parking stall to each side of each duplex instead of 2.5 parking stalls to allow for each duplex unit to have one room Private Home Accommodation or a Type 2 business.
