Electric vehicle charging stations

Elk Island National Park

Four charging stations (2 Tesla, 2 Universal) are located in the southwest corner of the main Astotin Beach Parking Lot. The electric vehicle charging stations are available on a first-come, first-serve basis throughout the year. Users are responsible for monitoring their charging and find another parking spot when their vehicle is fully charged.

We're committed to providing practical solutions to reduce emissions when you are visiting national parks, national historic sites and national marine conservation areas.

Elk Island National Park is one of more than 27 Parks Canada places with Parks Canada managed charging stations.

In 2019, Tesla donated Level 2 charging stations (half Tesla, half J-1772) for visitor use in Parks Canada places. These destination charging stations allow vehicles to reach full charge in 4 to 6 hours.

Parks Canada managed charging stations

Parks Canada's managed charging stations (Tesla and J-1772) allow us to better serve visitors who have chosen electric vehicles and are part of our ongoing work in greening operations and fighting climate change.
