July - August only
Tuesday afternoons

New location! Banff Avenue Square (downtown Banff)

All ages are welcome to join Siksika First Nations and Blackfoot Crossing Historical Park for an active dance and discover program held in Banff Avenue Square every Tuesday in July and August.

Dance and Discover - Join In!

Set against a Rocky Mountain backdrop, the Prairie Chicken Dance is just one of the featured Siksika First Nations traditional dances, set to the beat of traditional singing and drumming.

Your host will explain the colourful costumes and intricate movements and steps, and you'll witness an Alberta spectacle with a First Nations Twist.

At the end of each day's show, it's your turn. Join in the fun and be a part of the circle in the closing Round Dance. Don't forget your camera and your questions!

Banff National Park is hosting the 11th annual Siksika Interpretive Program in partnership with Siksika First Nations and Blackfoot Crossing Historical Park.

New Location!
Visit the Siksika tipi in a new location - BANFF AVENUE SQUARE in downtown Banff! Visitors of all ages are welcome to experience firsthand the traditions and customs of the Siksika Nation. Witness a tipi-raising, listen to drumming, singing, dancing and story-telling, and participate in the closing Round-dance.
