White-tailed deer are a hoofed animal (ungulate) species found all across North America. In Banff National Park, their range overlaps with the mule deer. Like the mule deer, they are found in elevation areas. Each year, male deer re-grow their antlers. They are browsers and can be found eating grasses, leaves, wildflowers, twigs and buds from various trees.

White Tail Deer
I've been walking around now
For four million years,
And I might get confused sometimes
With those mule deer.
But I watch my stride as I hop with pride,
I the white tail deer
My antler points grow like a crown,
In the spring they're covered in a velvet down
And I may have a white outlined tail,
But remember those with the crown are only male
So I watch my stride as I hop with pride,
I the white tail deer
Now with these words I have no fear,
I am the white tail deer
And now you're clear.
So I watch my stride as i hop with pride,
I the white tail deer
So I watch my stride as I hop with pride,
I the white tail deer
