Madison: Hello! My name is Anne Shirley. Welcome to Lucy Maud Montgomery's Cavendish National Historic site! Here at Green Gables, we have lots of programs for people of all ages!

[Children sit in a circle and play duck duck goose. Children race in potato sack races. ]

Kids can join us in our Games and Races program, where they can play games and race against characters from the story!

[Slow pan from a haystack to a person knitting. A woman churns ice cream in an old fashioned ice cream maker. ]

Take in a demonstration of how things were done in the late 1800's when the story of Green Gables took place! Watch our talented interpreters make homemade ice cream and try some for yourself, my favourite!

[A Parks Canada employee speaks to a group of people about the Barns at Green Gables National Historic Site. Slow pan of a room inside Green Gables displaying antiques. A small family walks into the front door at Green Gables. ]

Take in a guided tour through Green Gables site! View antiques and learn more about the history of Lucy Maud Montgomery, the novel, and see the house just as Montgomery described it in the novel!

[A Parks Canada employee talks about the story of Anne of Green Gables while taking visitors through a walking path]

Participate in a guided walk through the Haunted Woods or Lover's Lane and watch as the story comes alive right in front of your eyes!

[2 women in period costume sing traditional island songs and play the guitar for a crowd of people. Anne Shirley comes running in to join them. ]

Have a seat and listen to musicians play traditional Island music at a Ceilidh. Who knows who might show up to participate?

[A Parks Canada employee laughs while asking trivia. A woman dressed in period costume acts in a play. A visitor laughs inside the interpretation centre. ]

Or, join in other fun programs and activities that Green Gables has to offer!
