The Papineau is gearing up for a party! During your visit to Manoir Papineau's garden and main floor, you will have the opportunity to witness the preparation of this reception with characters in period costumes.

They may need your help in getting everything ready on time. As a token of their gratitude, you will have the chance to taste the Louis-Joseph Papineau oolong tea!

It’s always a good time to dress up! Put on your nicest summer outfit and have teas at the home of Louis-Joseph Papineau.

Ah, the intoxicating aroma of tea! The sweet pastries make you forget the 19th century etiquette you just learned.

In the sumptuous Salon Amédée, a ceremonial room with a view, guests can enjoy tea and treats from the prestigious kitchen of the Fairmont Le Château Montebello.

A host in period costume enlivens the experience with anecdotes on the Papineau’s tea traditions and practices. A guided tour of the elegant main floor is also offered.

Frescoes of Napoléon Bourrassa

This place, usually closed to the public, is open to you...

You will have the privilege of visiting the attic of granary and the second floor of the Manor in a group of 8 people maximum.

In the attic of the granary, you can admire the frescoes of renowned artist, and son-in-law of Louis-Joseph Papineau-Napoléon Bourassa-whose workshop was located here.

On the second floor of the Manor, you’ll discover Louis-Joseph Papineau’s office and the guest floor. You’ll also learn more about the 1929 sale of the Manor and see the change made to the manor by the Seignory Club.

Get the chance to discover rarely seen rooms and to handle certain objects representing different eras of Manoir-Papineau.

An authentic seigneurial manor

Accompanied by a Parks Canada guide, participants travel through more than 150 years of history, while admiring the impressive architecture of one of the largest log buildings in the world, as well as the remarkable structure that is the seigneurial manor.

The Château-Manoir Stroll is offered to Fairmont Le Château Montebello clientele.

This guided tour of the Manoir Papineau's main floor will teach you about the day-to-day life of Louis-Joseph Papineau's family. Get an intimate view of this elite French-Canadian family as you wander through the bedroom of Louis-Joseph Papineau and relive the festive atmosphere of receptions in the dining room and drawing room.

Authentic period décor, a touch of history and a few anecdotes will divulge the secrets of this manor house and its occupants.
