Summer or winter, by boat or on your skates, a trip down the canal will take you back to a bygone era. You can walk, ride, or snowshoe the 19 km of the former towpath and enjoy the charm of the canal, which has seen more than a century of history.

Friends of the Chambly Canal will welcome you at the entrance to the Chambly and St-Jean-sur-Richelieu path.

Whether you’d like to spend the afternoon cycling, kayaking, or heading out on a geocaching adventure, they will be able to guide you in your activity.

An Exhibition by Laurent Lucuix

The Richelieu River, from a bird's-eye view. This wonderful exhibit will be on display throughout the summer at the Chambly Canal Parc des Ateliers.

You have until September 1st to admire the work of Laurent Lucuix, a photographer from France, who captured images during his aerial adventures. This is an excellent opportunity to see the Richelieu from a whole new angle!

The city of Chambly invites the public to the Chambly Canal’s Parc des Ateliers to celebrate Quebec’s national holiday.

In addition to the traditional parade, music show, and bonfires, families can enjoy a full day of entertainment and activities including handicrafts, face painting, games and competitions! Wave the flag!

Every Wednesday in July and on the first Wednesday in August, the city of Chambly, in conjunction with Parks Canada, invites families to the Sur l’air de Chambly concert series in the Chambly Canal’s Parc des Ateliers.

Don’t miss the latest artists performing outdoors at the Chamby Canal’s locks 1, 2 and 3 in a unique festive atmosphere.

Mountain Equipment Co-op (MEC) has three challenges in store for you: line up in the Chambly Canal’s Parc des Ateliers for a 5 km, 10 km or 21.1 km run.

Open to all categories of runners, from beginners to elite, this event will enable you to discover the Chambly Canal in all its glory.

Enjoy dancing the Tango outdoors.

Demonstration at 7 p.m., followed by a 45-minute class. After that, enjoy dancing until 10 p.m.

Parks Canada invites the public to the City of Chambly’s Grande fête de la famille at the Chambly Canal’s Parc des Ateliers.

This year, once again there will be fun activities and entertainment for young and old alike. Participants will also be able to attend an evening concert, part of the Sur l’air de Chambly series.

In a festive atmosphere, the Défi Je Bouge (only in French) offers three types of challenges: a 5, 10 or 21,1K run recognized by the Quebec Athletic Federation (Fédération québécoise d’athlétisme), a 5 or 10K walk and a 20K bike ride for the whole family.

A 1K run is also organized for children as well as a 1 km walk for persons with mobility impairment.

Outdoor enthusiasts are invited to use the strip along the canal. During winter, it is perfect for off-trail cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.

Although the canal’s path is accessible at all times, it is maintained from April 15 to November 15 only.
