Pro-Vert Sud-Ouest

Do you want the Lachine Canal to flourish? Throughout the summer, Pro-Vert Sud-Ouest (only in French) is organizing a range of activities to ensure the Lachine Canal looks its best.

Your help is needed to clean the banks, get rid of graffiti and give a hand with planting and several other activities.

Défi du Canal Lachine

Aviron Lachine is inviting rowers to take part in the 7th edition of the Défi du Canal Lachine (Lachine Canal Challenge).

The approximately 5 km route will take you back in time as you paddle the waters where our ancestors founded the first rowing club in North America.

Spectators are invited to watch the impressive races from the banks of the canal and to cheer on participants. Rowers of all levels are welcome.

Montréal Folk Fest on the Canal


Montréal Folk Fest on the Canal invites you to the banks of the Lachine Canal for a weekend of musical discoveries, with folk and traditional music taking centre stage.

The public will enjoy soaking up the family-oriented atmosphere while listening to free concerts by internationally renowned artists and up-and-comers from Quebec.

Learn to Camp

June 20 and 21

Presented by Parks Canada and Mountain Equipment Co-op, the Learn-to-Camp weekend is back for a fifth year, when the banks of the Lachine Canal will be transformed into a campground for a weekend bursting with activities

Fête du nautisme

July 4 and 5

Following the success of the 2014 vintage, the Fête du nautisme is back this year to introduce young and old alike to the joys of nautical activities. All aboard!

Over a fun-filled weekend, Quebec’s water-sport fraternity comes together to bring you a range of activities and events on the Lachine Canal: you can canoe, kayak, go in a pedal boat or other small craft, enjoy a boat trip, or take part in organized activities, water safety workshops, demonstrations and much more!

Lachine Half Marathon

August 23

The 3nd edition of the Lachine Half Marathon will take place on August 24, with all proceeds going to the Alzheimer’s Society of Montréal.

The run, brought to you in partnership with the Borough of Lachine, is open to runners of all levels, competing over distances of 1 km, 2 km, 5 km, 10 km and 21 km. Families and experienced runners are invited to get moving for a good cause along our magnificent route, which takes in Lake St-Louis, the St. Lawrence River and Lachine Canal.

Circuit bleu Charles-Bruneau


Following the success of the first edition of Circuit bleu, held in September 2014, the Fondation Charles-Bruneau invites brave kayakers to circumnavigate the Island of Montreal once again to raise funds in support of children with cancer.
