The 150th Anniversary of the Fenian Raids

On Saturday May 28th 2016, Parks Canada will commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the Fenian Raids at Fort Wellington. The 30th Field Artillery Regiment, along with local militia units will retrace the steps of their predecessors at Fort Wellington. A new temporary exhibit entitled On to Canada! Fenians on the Upper St. Lawrence will open in the Visitor Centre. Visitors are welcome to take part in this important 150th anniversary at Fort Wellington. Admission to the historic site is free as a part of Door’s Open Ontario.

Guided Tours: Weekends July and August, 1:30 pm

Be escorted on a journey back in time with a soldier or his wife who will share exciting tales and tastes of the fort’s past. Explore the fort’s history and features during an engaging 1½ hour tour with a guide in historic costume. The tour concludes with period summer refreshments served within the walls of the fort. Program Fee.
