  1. Balsam Lake Provincial Park – Located in the picturesque Kawarthas, this park is an all-season recreational area along the Trent-Severn Waterway. In the summer, visitors can swim at the beach, hike to a lookout tower, fish, camp, sail and windsurf.

  2. Kirkfield Lift Lock – Come and visit the second highest hydraulic lift lock in the world, located just north of the Village of Kirkfield. Visitors can watch boats being lifted and lowered almost 15 m (49 ft).

  3. Carden Plain

    The Carden Plain – Designated as an Important Bird Area (IBA) because of its rare flat limestone landscape with shallow soil, this alvar supports an abundance of grassland species including the endangered Eastern Loggerhead Shrike. Bird watchers, botanists and naturalists will find this destination a delight.
