Summer along the waterways with Danielle

Hey Canada! My name is Danielle and this summer I am Parks Canada’s Social Networking Student for the Ontario Waterways, sharing images and stories of the Rideau Canal and the Trent-Severn Waterway National Historic Sites. Follow me as I share unforgettable experiences available on both of these historic waterways. I hope you’ll get out this summer and enjoy some of the same experiences yourself!

Remember, if you ever see me on the waterways, be sure to stop and say hello!

My First Day Trip

May 30th, 2014 - The sun is shining which means that I got to take a day trip along the Rideau Canal! I had the opportunity to head out of Smiths Falls and visit a number of lockstations.

Checking Out the Gate Shop

May 28th, 2014 - Since it has been overcast a bit lately, I visited Parks Canada’s Rideau Canal Gate Shop in Smiths Falls today. Most of you are probably wondering, what is a Gate Shop?

First Days of Summer Along the Canal

May 22nd and 23rd, 2014 - My first days along Ontario’s historic waterways! I begin in Smiths Falls and visit lockstations in the Smiths Falls area including Smiths Falls Combined, Poonamalie, Old Slys, Edmonds and Kilmarnock.
