Hours of Operation


Fortified Town:
Season: June 15 to October 15

9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Entry through the Visitor Centre.
Guides and costumed interpretation available daily.

Off-season: October 16 to June 14

Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., except on statutory holidays.
Entry through Gate 2.
Some programs and services by pre-arrangement only.

Kennington Cove Beach and Simon's Point Trail:
Vehicle access from mid-June to October 31.  Open year-round; no winter maintenance.


Wolfe's Redoubt and Mi'kmaq Trails:
Vehicle access from June 1 to October 15.  Open year-round; no winter maintenance.


Lighthouse Point and the Louisbourg Lighthouse Trail:
Open year-round.  Trail is maintained by the Coastal Connections Trail Association; no winter maintenance.

Weather conditions will vary. Use caution when visiting these areas. Wear comfortable walking or hiking shoes, as terrain varies from groomed walking trails to uneven slopes to bridges.
The Fortress' bakery and restaurants:

Open from June 1 to October 15.
