Fort Langley National Historic Site
Visiting Fort Langley National Historic Site will be different than previous years. Be prepared, and know what is open and closed before you go.
Choose from our selection of indoor and outdoor spaces. Spaces may be combined to meet your needs. The site is wheelchair accessible, featuring new paved pathways and charming outdoor lighting for evening events.

For larger events, Parks Canada reserves the right to request additional planning details. An event is considered a large event when the total projected attendance (including staff, spectators and volunteers) exceeds 150.
Whole site rental
You can rent the entire historic site inside the palisade walls for the purpose of special events.
Whole site rentals include:
- Use of the 40’ x 40’ events tent. Seats 150 people. Set up from May to September. The tent has removable sides, white flooring and heaters
- Access to our five oTENTik tents (depending on availability)
- Exclusive access after site hours (visitors will still have access from 10 am to 5 pm)
Additional considerations:
- The Visitor Centre, Theatre, Cooperage, Big House, and outdoor kitchen are available to rent at an additional cost
- Additional fees may apply, such as staffing or heritage interpretation programs, upon request
- Farm animals live on site from May to October
Heritage buildings
The Big House and outdoor kitchen
(Available for rent including exclusive use of space between 7 am and 10 pm)
The stately 1958 Big House is the exact location where British Columbia was proclaimed a colony in 1858. The two-storey building features period rooms on the first floor, ideal for standing receptions, and a larger upstairs multi-purpose area suitable for workshops and seminars.

The Theatre
(Available for rent including exclusive use of space between 7 am and 10 pm)
Multi-purpose room equipped with a projector and movable benches, this modern yet rustic building makes a great location for dances, standing receptions, and meetings.

The Cooperage
(Available for rent including exclusive use of space between 7 am and 10 pm)
The barrel-making shop features a beautiful stone fireplace, creating a cozy atmosphere for a small corporate event or Christmas party.

The Visitor Centre
(Available for rent including exclusive use of space outside normal site hours, between 5 pm and 10 pm)
Featuring a magnificent mountain view this space is suitable for after-hours standing receptions and meetings. Adjacent to the parking lot and equipped with full washrooms.

Outdoor spaces
The Orchard
The fort’s palisade wall makes a rustic backdrop to this open lawn, where a few fruit trees testify to the fort’s old orchard. Great for large, outdoor events, festivals, car shows, parking, and more.
Picnic shelter
Located at the west end of our parking lot, enjoy a private event in our shady picnic area.
- Capacity : The picnic shelter seats about 20 people.
