A Soldier's Best Friend

Your chance to get up close and personal with historic Canadian weapons. See the infamous Ross rifle, notorious for jamming in the mud of France and Flanders. Admire the workmanship of the Lee-Enfield No 4, which landed in Normandy with our troops on D-Day. Find out why his rifle was a soldier's best friend!

Soldiers of the Queen

Come and learn about Fort Rodd Hill’s first soldiers. Learn about how they travelled thousands of kilometers to get here and find out how many of them decided to stay in Victoria after they finished installing the guns. Discover why they wore those sharp blue uniforms- aren't the British known as "red coats"? Sign up for a short enlistment and get the feel of what is was like to be a "Soldier of Queen Victoria". Seven year enlistment is now entirely optional!

Airsoft Challenge
Ready, aim… now it’s your turn! Do you have what it takes to be a skilled soldier? With a battery-powered Airsoft replica Tommy gun, proceed to the custom-designed safety range and challenge yourself and others. Focus, be still and precise. Single shot or full automatic? Who will hit the bull’s-eye first? Claim your bragging rights with your take-home customized target.

Please note: Additional fee applies. All safety equipment, trained Parks Canada instructor and magazine with about 30 rounds included. Purchase ticket at entry kiosk before program start time. Must be 10 years or older to participate.
