The Bar U Ranch National Historic Site Visitor Centre includes a reception area, fireside lounge, heritage displays, video theatre, restaurant, gift shop and restroom facilities.
Visitors may either make the short walk from the Visitor Centre down to the ranch headquarters or take a horse-drawn wagon shuttle.
New for 2016 is the Hometown Heroes First World War display, honouring six men who worked at southern Alberta ranches before serving in the war.
The Visitor Centre is open daily 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the operating season. It is wheelchair accessible.
Do you have a group activity that you are interested in hosting? The Visitor Centre is available as a rental facility for weddings, conferences, meetings, etc. It can accommodate parties (70 people maximum) with a full banquet menu provided by the Bar U Cafe.
The Bar U Ranch Gift Shop
In keeping with the themes and eras represented on the ranch, the Bar U Ranch Gift Shop stocks various items by local artists and crafts people. Quality items include: sewing, knitting, woodwork, handmade soap, candles and Friends of the Bar U promotional items.

The Bar U Cafe
The Bar U Cafe offers traditional, ranch-style food. The menu includes homemade soups, chillies, burgers and seasonal salads and desserts - and the coffee's always on! Specialty buffets and catering are available for tour groups and private functions.
The Bar U Cafe is open daily 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the operating season.

- No pets are allowed on the site or in the visitor centre for health and safety reasons, due to the horses and livestock at the site. Service dogs are permitted.
- As we have a number of heritage buildings, smoking is not permitted on the site. There is a designated smoking area at the front of the visitor centre.
