On November 24, 2011, it was announced that the Parks Canada fee freeze that has been in place since May 2009 will be extended for an additional year.
This means that all current visitor fees for entry, camping and other services will be extended until March 31, 2013 while current fees for commercial operators will be extended until March 31, 2014. The fee freeze has been extended due to the slower than expected recovery from the global financial crisis in support of the tourism industry of Canada. Most fees have not been increased since 2008.
