Parks Canada works to protect vast tracts of land that represent all of Canada's landscapes and the species found within them, to manage them through ecosystem-based approaches, and to provide opportunities for Canadians to use and enjoy them.

To make sure that national parks remain healthy and unimpaired for future generations, Parks Canada is working to maintain or restore the ecological integrity of national parks. This requires an understanding of the dynamic nature of ecosystems and the stresses they face.
