Canada’s special places are unique and authentic, offering one of-a-kind experiences that have evolved over the years to reflect the needs and interests of visitors. When national parks first came into being, camping and mountaineering were preferred activities. At national historic sites, tours and presentations were most popular. These activities remain favourites today, but concerts, artistic retreats, language courses, and weddings are some of the new ways that people can experience Canada’s national historic sites, parks, and marine conservation areas.
