Community of Old Crow

There are no facilities or services of any kind in the park. Old Crow is the closest community and the primary staging area for trips into the park. With a population of 300 and no road access it is both the most northerly and the most isolated community in the Yukon. People normally fly to Old Crow from Whitehorse, Dawson City or Inuvik.
John Tizya Centre

Experience Vuntut National Park from the comfort of an indoor setting by visiting the John Tizya Centre in Old Crow. Interpretive displays showcase Vuntut National Park, Vuntut Gwitchin culture and the natural highlights of the Old Crow area. Admire traditional bone and stone tools, listen to elders’ stories, learn about the Porcupine Caribou Herd, explore the ancient Beringian landscape and more. Parks Canada and Vuntut Gwitchen Government Heritage Department offices are also located here. A wealth of information awaits you at the John Tizya Centre!
