Visitor Reception Centres
Visitor Centres for Kluane National Park and Reserve are located at Haines Junction and near Tachäl Dhäl (74 km north of Haines Junction on the Alaska Highway).
Kluane Visitor Reception Centre (Haines Junction)
Featuring a topographic relief map of the Kluane area, exhibits on the park's natural and cultural history, information on hiking and other activities, backcountry registrations and much more!
Summer Hours (mid-May to mid-September)
- Daily from 9 am to 5pm.
- Please arrive by 4:30pm to register for overnight trips in the park.
Winter Hours (mid-September to mid-May)
- Open by appointment only. Closed weekends and statutory holidays.

Tachäl Dhäl (Sheep Mountain) Visitor Reception Centre
Situated in the Ä’äy Chù (Slim's River) Valley, the Tachäl Dhäl (Sheep Mountain) Visitor Centre is a one-hour drive north of Haines Junction on the Alaska Highway. Dall Sheep viewing opportunities are often possible in the spring and fall. Backcountry registrations and park information are also provided here.

- Please arrive by 3:30pm to register for overnight trips in the park.

Access for Persons with Disabilities
We are pleased to offer services and facilities to visitors with mobility, hearing and visual disabilities. Both Visitor Reception Centres are wheelchair accessible. There are also a number of camping and picnic sites which are wheelchair accessible at Kathleen Lake. The Kokanee trail is a wheelchair accessible boardwalk that skirts the edge of Kathleen Lake starting from the day-use area.
The Visitor Reception Centre in Haines Junction has a wheelchair available for use by our visitors. You can make arrangements to use the chair by calling the Visitor Centre at:
