Haines Junction is the primary staging area for interpretive activities in Kluane
National Park & Reserve and is the site of the main park Visitor Reception Centre which offers a myriad of displays and information.
The Tachal Dhal (Tachal Dhal) Visitor Centre located one hour north of Haines
Junction along the Alaska Highway on the shores of Kluane Lake, focuses on Kluane
National Park & Reserve's most abundant large mammal: Dall Sheep,
which are seen from the viewing deck from late August to mid June.
Kluane National Park & Reserve protects the unique wilderness
of the North Coast Mountains natural region. There are many ways for people
of all ages and abilities to discover the park.
Park interpreters are available to help you discover Kluane National Park & Reserve
and its rich diversity. Activities include campfire talks, guided walks and
special events. Each summer a schedule of interpretive events is released.
Interpretive programming will start in June and run until late August. Phone (867) 634 7250 for more details.
If you would like to make arrangements for a special interpretive program for your family or group, please call to make arrangements. We ask for 2 weeks notice and fees will apply.
