How to Get There

The park is accessible by Highways #2 and #264 (approximately 90km north of Prince Albert) or the Scenic Route - Highway #263, all of which are paved, year-round roads. Contact the Visitor Centre if you require information regarding routes to backcountry trailheads and canoe launching points on the western or northern boundaries.

Average travel times by automobile to Waskesiu are, from:

  • La Ronge 2.5 hours
  • Prince Albert 1 hour
  • Saskatoon 2.5 hours
  • Regina 5.5 hours
  • Winnipeg 10 hours
  • Edmonton 7.5 hours
  • Calgary 10 hours

From mid-May to September the Saskatchewan Transportation Company (STC) bus line makes one daily trip directly to Waskesiu.

The closest airport is the John G. Diefenbaker International Airport located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan approximately 2.5 hours south of Prince Albert National Park.
