Interpretive Programs

Make an interpretive program part of your family's visit.

Build part of your visit to Prince Albert National Park around a guided interpretive event or take advantage of the self-guided trails or Nature Centre.

They'll help you make more sense of the creatures and multitude of ecological relationships which make up the beautiful and fragile northern forests and lakes you'll encounter during your visit.

Public programs are offered from end of June to the end of September.

Daily Programs

Nature Centre - 10:30 a.m.
Puppet shows, bison games, nature songs, geocache, and cheering on fire - lots to discover about why this national park is so special! Join a park interpreter every day at 10:30 a.m.

Beach Roam and Discovery Dome – 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Watch for roaming Interpreters during the weekends on the main beach or under the Discovery Dome as weather permits!


Aboriginal Games - 3:00 p.m. @ Tipi
Have fun testing your hunting skills that aboriginal people depended on for survival.

Park Bingo Blast! - 7:00 p.m. @ Terrace Gardens
Be entertained by a national park interpreter as you set up for bingo.


Build a Bison - 3:00 p.m. @ Tipi
Roam into the world of bison with the Queen of the Herd.

Art in the Park - 7:00 p.m. @ Sidewalk below Tipi
Paint, sculpt, color!
Everyone is an artist!
Create something different each week!


Home & Hearth - 3:00 p.m. @ Tipi
Storytelling, music, plant medicine and making bannock over an open fire.

Celebrate with song! - 7:00 p.m. @ Main Beach
Come sing-a-long as we jam in the sand! Bring own instruments and chair. (July)

Wolf Howl (August) - 7:00 p.m. @ Main Beach


Aboriginal Performer - 1:00 p.m. @ Terrace Gardens
Cultural Arts Workshops, drumming, dancing, storytelling & crafts! (Watch for posters)

Bison Will Rise Again - 3:00 p.m. @ Main Beach
Join Bibi Bison on her musical romp! It’s the return of plains bison!

Spirits of the Park - 7:00 p.m. @ Sidewalk below Tipi
Park characters leap out of the history books and onto the streets of Waskesiu!


Aquatic Animals - 3:00 p.m. @ Main Beach
Fish for lake critters and get to know who else prefers lake life.

Traditional Crafts - 7:00 p.m. @ Tipi
Bead a bracelet or weave a sash and discover their significance to Aboriginal cultures.
