What's Included:

Bus to and from Prince Albert National Park
Camping equipment (tent and sleeping pads)
Meals (lunch Saturday and breakfast Sunday)
Activities: tent set up, campfire cooking
Park entry fee, camping fee and firewood fee

What to Bring:

  • Sleeping Bags (sleeping bags are NOT provided. Please ensure you have one for each member of your group).
  • Pillow
  • Suitable, comfortable clothing for the outdoors (remember that it can be cool at night so bring a variety of clothing so that you will be able to layer for warmth)
  • Pyjamas
  • Rain jacket, rubber boots
  • Running shoes or hiking boots
  • Warm socks
  • Bug spray
  • Sunscreen
  • Water bottles
  • A hat to protect you from the sun
  • Toothbrush, toothpaste, comb etc
  • Any personal medication
  • Camera
  • Items for young children (bottles, diapers, etc.)
  • Your health card
  • Use plastic bags to protect your belongings from rain


Space is limited so reservations are required. Reservations will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis.
To register for the event, please contact Parks Canada between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm EST (7 days a week) by:

Cancellation policy: Cancellations received 48 hours before the start of the event will be fully refunded. Should you cancel your registration less than 48 hours before the start of the event, we reserve the right to retain 50% of your registration fee.


What if I don't have a sleeping bag? If you don't have a sleeping bag, you may bring warm blankets from home

What kind of meals will there be?

Saturday lunch, supper and Sunday breakfast and snacks will be provided. Meals will consist of options for those with any dietary restrictions. We will collect this information at the time of registration.

Can I bring my own food?

Bring a snack to eat on the bus on Saturday or before pick up.

Beaver Glen Campground has:

  • Washrooms with flush toilets, showers and electrical outlets.
  • A pay telephone
  • Firewood

The campground is within Waskesiu townsite which has a Visitor Centre, stores, restaurants, beach, bicycle rentals, museum, Nature Centre

Can I bring my pet?

For the purpose of the event pets are not permitted at Learn-to Camp.

Can a 4-person family or group reserve a 6-person tent?

Yes, if available.

Do I have to take the transportation that is arranged or can I arrive on my own?

Participants are not required to take the transportation arranged. Parking can be arranged on site at no extra charge. No discounts are offered for those arriving at the park themselves.

What if the weather is bad?

Learn to Camp will go ahead unless the weather is stormy. We will phone campers on June 21 if we need to cancel.
