Grasslands National Park is part of a larger Canadian system of protected heritage areas. The goal of our national system is to protect representations of each of Canada's 39 natural regions. Grasslands National Park represents the Prairie Grasslands Natural Region of Canada. It is the only park of our 39 national parks that does so.
