The Prairie People I: Aboriginals

Journey back in time! Discover an ancient tipi ring. Partake in authentic aboriginal games! Students will learn about the First Nations people, cultures and traditions, their lifestyles and technology.

Down By the Creek: An Investigation of a Prairie Water Ecosystem

Investigate a riparian zone, a very valuable part of a grassland ecosystem. Discover how water is key to life and an integral part of the ecosystem, however small or insignificant it may appear.

Going...Going...Gone…?: An examination of threatened, endangered and extirpated species

Some of our famous, yet elusive grasslands species are facing troubles… are we looking at a “Going...going… gone?” situation for our friends? Or is there something that we can do to help them out? Learn about endangered, threatened, extirpated, extinct and reintroduced species of our native prairies.

The Prairie People 2—The Ranchers/Homesteaders

Take a journey through time! Partake in authentic games and activities that will bring the life to the culture of the ranchers and the homesteaders.

Prairie Stories - A great introduction to the park.

Activities, games, props and the five senses are used to share some of the many stories of the park’s vast history. We hope that this experience will allow the students to leave with their own “Prairie Story”.

Once Upon a time ... 65.5 million years ago

From the Bear Paw Sea to hoo doos, who knew? Explore the badlands discovering the secrets hidden in these fossil rich buttes. The fossils tell the tale.
