The “Défi Vélo Mag”

The “Défi Vélo Mag” – September 21 to 23, 2012

For six years now, La Mauricie National Park has hosted the “Défi Vélo Mag”,Canada’s largest sport cycling gathering. At this event, participants at all levels can take on a variety of challenges, including a mountain-biking circuit, a footrace, a triathlon or an off-trail duathlon – all in an exceptional setting!

Stands at La Mauricie National Park

Throughout the entire weekend, La Mauricie National Park staff will be manning stands dealing with the activities and services on offer at the park. Naturalists will also be on hand to provide you with insights into the natural and cultural resources of this protected area. Information, interpretation and educational games will all be available on location.

“Défi Éco Parc”

To take the “Défi Éco Parc” challenge, begin by filling out a short questionnaire available at the stand manned by Parks Canada naturalists. You might win a season pass to La Mauricie National Park for the summer 2013 season or the winter 2012-13 season. (In French)

Road and trail closings

In order to offer participants the best environment possible, the Parkway and certain trails will be closed during the event.

September 22: Parkway closed during the day.
Road re-opened via the Saint-Mathieu entrance as of 6:00 p.m.

September 23: Network of trails in the Rivière-à-la-Pêche sector closed. Except for Mekinac and Deux-Criques Trails.
Trail network re-opened as of 1:00 p.m.
