Visitor Safety

Special places require special care and awareness:

• The north shore is prone to rip currents or rip tides which can pull even a strong swimmer away from shore. We encourage all swimmers to use supervised swimming areas.
  
  
• Walk on designated paths and boardwalks only. Please do not walk on the dunes.
  
  
• Poison ivy is found in certain areas of Prince Edward Island National Park.
  
  
• Leave berries, leaves, and plants where they are; they are food for local birds and animals.
  
  
• Absolutely no dogs on the beach during the summer months (April 1 - October 15).
  
  
• Jumping from Covehead Bridge is prohibited and dangerous.
  
  
• 
  Never feed or disturb wildlife.
