PEI National Park Christmas Bird CountDate:
December 15, 2013Location:
Prince Edward Island National Park
Birdwatching enthusiasts and those wishing to improve their birding skills are invited to participate in this year's PEI National Park Christmas Bird Count. This count covers a 24 km wide circle centered near PEI National Park.
Those who live within the count circle can provide their count of the birds they see at their feeders or yard on the count day. For those in the field, no need to be an expert as novice bird watchers will be paired with more experienced birders. Christmas bird counts occur during a 23-day period across Canada, the United States, Latin America, the Caribbean and North America. They provide scientifically important information on the distribution, species and numbers of winter birds.
For more information on how you can participate, please contact the Natural History Society of Prince Edward Island.
