2013 Parks Canada Trail Challenge
See how far you can go this summer!
Parks Canada, along with Parks & People Association and go!pei, is happy to announce the second annual Parks Canada Trail Challenge in PEI. Islanders and visitors are challenged to run, walk, hike, bike or rollerblade the many scenic trails found at Parks Canada locations in PEI before October 1, 2013. Participants who complete a challenge will be invited to a celebratory reception in October.
“The inaugural 2012 trail challenge enjoyed such success, and so much positive feedback from participants and partners, that Parks Canada made it an annual event,” explained Janette Gallant, Outreach Education Officer for Parks Canada. “The 2013 Parks Canada Trail Challenge has expanded to include not only the trails at PEI National Park and Green Gables Heritage Place, but also those at Port-la-Joye—Fort Amherst National Historic Site. Over 80km of trails and beaches are waiting to be explored!”
There are several new challenges for 2013:
go!pei100, Parks & People200, and the Louisbourg300
Cover 100, 200 or 300 kilometres in PEI National Park, Green Gables Heritage Place and Port-la-Joye—Fort Amherst National Historic Site to complete these partner challenges.
