Prince Edward Island National Park of Canada

A Park for all Seasons

Parks Canada invites visitors to explore and enjoy the wonder of an island winter in Prince Edward Island National Park. From skating on Dalvay Lake to cross country skiing on 10 km of groomed trails to snowshoeing and hiking, PEI National Park provides many opportunities for outdoor winter fun!

Winter trail conditions are available 24-hours-a-day all winter long by calling (902) 672-6404. Please note that entry fees to PEI National Park are not collected in the winter.

Special events

To maximize the winter enjoyment for all trail users, visitors who are walking and snowshoeing are asked to avoid the groomed ski trails so these can be maintained at a high standard throughout the season. Dogs on leash are welcome on snowshoe and walking trails, but not on the tracked ski trails. Owners are reminded to pick up after their pets.

To ensure visitor safety, Parks Canada asks that all refrain from skating on the lake until the skating area has been officially opened.

Many of the trails in PEI National Park are not regularly monitored over the winter and some are quite remote. Parks Canada asks that visitors bring proper and sufficient equipment to ensure safety in the event of unforeseen problems and to ensure that they have the fitness and skills necessary to participate in outdoor activities. Park emergency personnel can be reached 24 hours a day at 1-877-852-3100.
