Plan your coastal paddling trip at Pukaskwa National Park
Planning to paddle the wildest shore of all the Great Lakes? This guide will help you find all the information you need to plan, pack, and have a safe and memorable trip on the Coastal Paddling Route. Each campsite is profiled with photographs, site information, and a story about the place. Many of these stories were collected during a series of oral history interviews conducted in 1979, others come from our own staff who have travelled these routes for decades.
We’ve designed this guide to help you plan your dream trip. It is NOT intended for navigation, nor as a sole source of information. We recommend you use this guide along with Chrismar’s “The Adventure Maps: Pukaskwa”, a Pukaskwa National Park Map, National Topographic Service maps for the region, as well as advice from paddlers who have done the route.
We are also working on Trip Planners for the Pukaskwa River, and the White River. If you have ideas, corrections, or even a photograph you think will improve the guide, please contact ont-pukaskwa@pc.gc.ca.
