Friends of Point Pelee

Established in 1981, the Friends of Point Pelee are dedicated to providing resources and services to Point Pelee National Park.  This not-for-profit group, working in collaboration with Parks Canada, strives to enhance the visitor experience in the park and is committed to protecting the natural and cultural features that make Point Pelee National Park unique.

Services provided by the Friends of Point Pelee include:

  • Shuttle to the Tip
  • Snack bar and canoe rentals at the Marsh Boardwalk
  • Nature Nook Gift Store at the Visitor Centre
  • Guided Birding Hikes and the Birder Breakfasts & Lunches during the Festival of Birds
  • Adopt-a-Bench Programme
  • Adopt-a-Tree Fund

Get To Know

GET TO KNOW is an organization that focuses on connecting youth with nature through direct experience, science education, and the arts. GET TO KNOW works to instill a genuine concern for biodiversity in youth and motivate positive action to ensure the future of the world’s wildlife.

Point Pelee National Park is collaborating with GET TO KNOW to offer an Art & Nature Camp for the winners of the 2012 GET TO KNOW contest.  The contest winners will win a unique opportunity to explore and camp in Point Pelee National Park. Winners will learn about Parks Canada Agency through hands-on activities in art, science and outdoor recreation.
