100 Species Challenge

100 species challenge

One of the best parts about birding at Point Pelee during the Festival of Birds is the diversity of species you can see during your visit. On a really good day, with a little hard work, 100 species is not an impossible goal. Why not take the 100 species while you’re visiting – not only will you have fun, but you can also win a great prize.

The rules are simple – count the number of bird species you see during your visit to Point Pelee.

  • Birds must be sighted within the Pelee Birding area and identification can be made visually or by ear.
  • All participants must follow Point Pelee’s Birding Ethics while participating in the challenge.
  • Pick up your official registration form at the Visitor Centre and start checking off your species.

The first 500 participants will receive the limited edition 2014 Challenge pin and all participants will be entered in a draw to receive a fabulous birding prize package (including a Family/Group annual pass to Point Pelee National Park). Finish the challenge in a day, a week or anything in between – you set your own pace.
