Monthly Summaries of Autumn Migrants
December
Most of the birds at Pelee in December are either permanent residents or winter visitant species. There are, however, always a few laggards that remain until more severe winter weather or a dwindling food supply forces them to move farther south.
The following winter visitants can be expected in December:
Glaucous Gull
Northern Shrike
Snowy Owl (erratic)
Common Redpoll (erratic)
Short-earred Owl
Red Crossbill (erratic)
