Point Pelee National Park of Canada
Visitor Centre
Point Pelee's Visitor Centre serves as an excellent introduction to the Park, featuring colourful exhibits, a discovery room for kids and theatre programs. Friendly, experienced interpretive staff will be happy to assist you with information and guidance.
The Visitor Centre houses a beautiful 110-seat theatre where you can enjoy slide shows, films, videos, DVDs and live presentations about Point Pelee's natural and cultural heritage. "Keep the Songs Alive" is a 15-minute presentation which introduces the visitor to the Park. It is a must-see for first-time visitors and is available year-round in the Visitor Centre.
At the Nature Nook Book Store, choose from an excellent variety of books as well as gifts and souvenirs. Proceeds support Park programs and projects.
For a list of the Visitor Centre's hours, please visit our Hours of Operation section.
From April to October, you can enjoy the shutlle service from the Visitor Centre to the Tip. The shuttle runs every 20 minutes on the hour and holds a maximum of 64 people. This service is wheelchair accessible. See Hours of Operation for schedule. Pets are welcomed on the shuttle and in the Visitor Centre. Pets must be on a leash and under control at all times.
Both the Woodland Nature Trail (2.75 km / 1.7 miles) and the Tilden's Woods Trail (1 km / 0.6 miles) start at the Visitor Centre area. They will allow you to explore, in a short time, a variety of habitats, such as wet forest and Red Cedar savannah.
