Islands
St. Lawrence Islands National Park includes more than 20 island properties in the St. Lawrence River between Kingston and Brockville. Both power and sailboaters use the park islands as stopping off points for a day or night enroute down or up the St. Lawrence River. Cedar Island, off Kingston, is a stopover for boaters sailing into Lake Ontario or as starting point for cruising up the Rideau Canal. The park does not provide transportation to the islands.
Boat rentals are available at many local marinas and
sea kayaking is becoming increasingly popular in the 1000 Islands.
Mallorytown Landing
At the Visitor Centre, meet native snakes, fish and other animals and explore our new travelling exhibit “Hands On Nature” from the Royal Ontario Museum.
Facilities at Mallorytown Landing also include a playground, picnic area, historic gunboat exhibit, telephone, parking for vehicles and trailers, boat launch, overnight docking, and a 1.7-km walking trail (800 m of which is barrier-free). The trail travels through woodland and wetland habitats that have replaced a Loyalist farm that was cultivated until 1956.
