The votes are in! The winning photo for the 2011 Georgian Bay Islands National Park Photo Contest was taken by Emily who visited the park in early October 2011. The photograph shows her daughter observing the beautiful fall foliage at the park.

When asked about their visit to Georgian Bay Islands National Park, Emily noted that: "Beausoleil Island is a beautiful island! We really enjoyed our first visit at this park in Georgian Bay!" The family had taken the DayTripper boat service to enjoy a day out in the park.
The winning photograph will be featured in the 2012 Visitor Guide. The photographer also wins an amazing trip to Pukaskwa National Park, which includes:
- 4 nights at Hattie Cove Campground, Pukaskwa National Park (electric site)
- Welcoming smudge ceremony with bush-tea and bannock at the Anishnaabe Camp
- Private 1/2-day canoe tour of Hattie Cove

Contest Rules
- This contest is open to all visitors to Georgian Bay Islands National Park with the exception of GBINP staff and their immediate family members (spouse, parent, child or sibling).
- Three photo entries maximum per person.
- Submit photos via email as an attached (not embedded file) to info.gbi@pc.gc.ca.
High resolution JPEG format is preferred; maximum 5MB via email.
- Photo resolution must be high enough that photos display clearly at an 8" x 10" size.
- Photo submission must fall within the theme stated for that year.
- The photographer takes responsibility to seeking and/or granting permission for identifiable persons that appear in the submitted photo.
- All entries will become the property of Parks Canada and may be featured in other park publications, used for promotional and educational purposes or on the official website. Credit will be given to the photographer when the photo is used.
- The contest begins on April 1st 2011 and submissions must be received by 4:00 pm on December 2nd 2011.
- Georgian Bay Islands National Park reserves the right to suspend the contest if for some reason it becomes compromised or some factor beyond the park's control prevents the contest from running as planned.
