Please dress appropriately for all hiking and outdoor activities. Hiking boots, a snack and a drink are recommended for all hikes. Children need to be accompanied by an adult.

2 pm at the Parks Canada Visitor Centre
Gather 'round the fireplace to some wonderful tales about birds. Bring a mug for hot chocolate.
Night Hike

6 pm - 9 pm Meet at the Parks Canada Visitor Centre
Bring snowshoes. Call ahead and let us know if you need a pair of snowshoes.
Birding the Gallery

10 am - 4 pm at the Parks Canada Visitor Centre
Go birding in the calm weather of our gallery; learn about local species and their amazing adaptations. This is a self-guided activity.
Visitor Centre entry fee applies.
Feed the Birds
Thursday, January 5
Starting at 1 pm at the Parks Canada Visitor Centre
Learn about how birds find food in the winter and help out our feathered friends by making a bird feeder to take home.
Birdie Adaptations
Friday, January 6
1 pm at the Parks Canada Visitor Centre
Explore bird adaptations including feathers, beaks, eggs and feet. Make your own plaster bird track cast to take home! Special $5 program fee applies.
Moccasin Making

10 am - 4 pm at the Parks Canada Visitor Centre
Make a pair of moccasins, one of the most versatile and comfortable pieces of footwear. To participate please make a $40 donation to the Friends of Bruce District Parks. Limited to 10 participants.

At the Parks Canada Visitor Centre
All programs start at 1 pm and run until 4 pm.

Celebrate World Poetry Day with a presentation by former poet laureate Elizabeth Zetlin. The presentation will be followed by a fun and open writing workshop.

Geocaching Easter Egg Hunt
March 26 - April 13
Go on a high-tech Easter egg hunt. Get the coordinates from www.geocaching.com or drop by the Park Canada Visitor Centre for the coordinates. You can also rent a GPS unit from the Visitor Centre. The cost is $ 5.
Vernal Pool Hike
Wednesday, April 18
1 pm - 3:30 pm, meet at the Parks Canada Visitor Centre
Be surprised at the life in these short-lived spring "puddles." We'll hike the 4 km Burnt Point Loop searching for and exploring the mysterious vernal pool.
Earth Day Roadside Cleanup
Monday, April 23
1 pm - 4 pm, meet at Dorcas Bay Rd and Hwy 6
Help us give back to Mother Earth in a good ole community-cleanup. We will supply gloves, garbage pickers and bags. Who knows, there may be some spring flowers or birds to enjoy as we work!

Explore the colours from the land in this fun workshop that teaches both plant identification and a traditional skill of making natural dyes.
Exploring Natural Dyes – Part II – Basic Finger Weaving

10 am - 3 pm at the Parks Canada Visitor Centre
Learn the First Nations art of finger-weaving to make a sash (belt) using yarns coloured with natural dyes. Special $5 program fee applies.
