Kejimkujik National Park and National Historic Site of Canada

Hours of Operation

During the winter season 2014-15, visitors to Kejimkujik will have day-use access to the park/site at their own risk. Visitor facilities and services will be unavailable at this time; however, park/site access will be available as follows:

  • Access to the main park/site road is weather-dependant as there will be no winter maintenance. The main park/site road will generally be ploughed to the Visitor Centre, Monday to Friday.

  • Limited camping will be available until the camping season closes November 1, at which time Jeremy's Bay Campground and Jim Charles Point Group Campground and backcountry campsites will be closed. Camping within park boundaries is not permitted during this time.

  • The gates on the Eel Weir Road (at Grafton Lake) and on Big Dam Road will be locked in the fall and reopened in the spring, as conditions permit (the annual closure of Eel Weir Road is weather-dependant).

  • Available for day-use only: all picnic shelters and some backcountry cabins (including Mason's cabin and Wil-Bo-Wil cabin). Only local firewood that is purchased in the surrounding area is permitted (firewood is only considered local if purchased along Hwy. #8).

Visitors are responsible for their own safety. Visitors should be aware of changeable weather conditions and winter hazards, and have adequate information and equipment to ensure a safe visit.
