Kejimkujik Creative Writing Competition

An invitation to all writers of all ages to submit their works of creative writing!

We will recognise the best original, unpublished work that best reflects the essence of Kejimkujik. We encourage you to write about Kejimkujik. Tell us about your camping experiences, family memories, Mi’kmaw connections, first-hand nature experiences.

Write in English or French. Maximum length of text is 1,200 words. There will be a youth category (up to 18 years of age) and an adult category (18 years and older). Only original, unpublished texts (short story or creative non-fiction) will be accepted. A panel of 5 judges, made up of writers and Kejimkujik staff will judge all entries.

Judges will award prizes to the works that best celebrate and reflect the true essence of Keji.

All submissions must be received by September 30, 2014. Winners will be revealed during the Thanksgiving Weekend special event on October 11, 2014. The competition will be officially launched during the Kejimkujik Storytelling Festival on Saturday, July 19, 2014.
